Tooth-colored fillings, also known as composite fillings, are a popular dental treatment used to repair and restore
decayed, damaged, or discolored teeth.
They are made from a mixture of plastic and glass, designed to match the natural color of your teeth.
These fillings offer an aesthetically pleasing alternative to traditional silver amalgam fillings.
Preferred because they require less removal of the tooth structure compared to amalgam fillings and can bond directly to the tooth, providing more support.
Essentially, it’s a replacement tooth root made of titanium or titanium alloy that is placed into the jawbone beneath the gum line.
Once in place, it provides a stable foundation for artificial teeth or bridges.

Local Anasthesia, may or may not be required, depening how much decay there is.

The decay is removed via drills, followed by placement of the filling material.

The filling material is then made hard or set by specific wavelenght of light, followed by making your filling smooth and adjusted to your bite.
Normally we will administer local anesthesia to numb the area, so you shouldn’t feel any pain during the procedure. However, you might experience some sensitivity or discomfort afterward.
Generally several years, but their longevity depends on factors like the location of the filling, your oral hygiene habits, and the amount of pressure the tooth experiences.
Tooth-colored fillings are designed to match the natural color of your teeth.
Maintain good oral hygiene practices, including brushing and flossing regularly, and attending regular dental check-ups to ensure the longevity of the filling.
In most cases, tooth-colored fillings should feel natural and comfortable once the procedure is complete.
